Wine Tidbit

Tried a new wine over the weekend, Bogle Winery Sauvignon Blanc. This was a light wine with a very crisp taste to it. Went very well with the seafood chowder I was eating. Would be good with chicken, cheese, seafood. A nice go-to wine for the summer at $8.99 a bottle.

A New Begining

Strangely enough its been a year since I said I was going to put this thing together.I have gotten many requests from friends and relatives to put this stuff out there.Much of what I do is what I call off the cuff cooking.I spend endless hours looking at recipes and wine sites trying to get ideas for my cooking. Some of it comes from recipes, most is just a natural sense of what would work to make the impression I'm looking for.Yes it is kind of an art thing, similar to say painting or photography.First it has to look good.If it didn't who would try it?Then you have to back up the presentation with how it actually tastes. But then I have a third criteria,I want to do it as cheaply as possible.I can tell you my lovely wife Marcia and myself eat pretty good meals. All of you have seen our postings on face book.We try to share these pictures to get you excited about food. After all ,we all have to eat right? So I am going to post the pictures here where you can ask for recipes if you would like them. We will continue to put the pictures on face book but the recipes will only be found on the blog page.So stand by many neat pics to follow soon.We will also be talking about many different wines to pair up with these meals. There are so many great wines out there that are inexpensive. While there are so called (set rules) as to what wine goes with what,it is all open to interpretation as is your taste for what foods you like.I'm not going to tell you what is right or wrong, just what worked for me.You make your own choices on the journey.Yes it is a journey of sorts.Come along,we'll see where it takes us.
